I’m writing this on a beautiful autumnal sunny Sunday morning. It’s the last of the Sunday Car Boot sales in the market place until next year but there is still so much going on.

illegal-eaglesSadly we have missed Footloose which was on at Salisbury Playhouse with Gareth Gates starring. He stayed at Peartree Serviced Apartments I’m told.

Most of the hotels are encouraging us to start making our Christmas reservations, I can’t get excited about the festive season until December so you’ll not get much Christmas spirit form me until nearer the time. That said the Christmas Market starts later in November.

I’m off to The City Hall on Friday to see the Illegal Eagles – can’t wait to hear all my favourite songs again. There’s more live music over the coming weekend at The Mill with covers band Break Cover. And somehow hoping to find time to see Bridget Jones Baby before it finishes at the Odeon cinema.

I wonder how many of you have looked at the foyer on your way to see a film, it truly is a remarkable part of the building with all its beautiful panelled oak and stain glass. Take a good look next time you visit.

life-in-cartoonsAs well as being the owner of Destination Partners I am the Chair (until our AGM) of the local branch of the Federation of Small Businesses and this year we are holding our AGM in Arundells in the Cathedral Close. There is an exhibition Heath@100 – A Life in Cartoons. www.arundells.org for more information. You’ll be surprised, well I was, with regards to his obvious sense of humour something I had never expected so well worth a visit.

Next Sunday 9th October St Thomas’s Church are having a songs of praise service, not filmed but just for the joy of singing so I’m looking forward to that.

Don’t forget the Salisbury Business Bake Off happening on the 7th October. Go to www.salisburyrccg.co.uk for more information on how to join in.
