This week I do not plan to have quite so many meals out, the waist line is beginning to complain.. not about the food which has been amazing. We are so lucky in Amesbury, Salisbury and Wilton to have such variety to choose from.

49Salisbury Arts Centre has once again a great line up to finish September with Dr Sketchys life drawing for adults and Eddi Reader and there’s a charity evening in the Cathedral for Sudan.

Another charity evening this time taking place in Michael Herbert Hall on the 21st October in support of Salisbury Hospice. An Evening of Musical Theatre with Duncan Heather followed by The Hits of Frankie Valli and the 4 Seasons.

Tickets cost £20 to include a buffet supper. Bring your own drinks. Call Margaret James on 01722 322595 for more information and to book.

Hopefully many of you will have had time to go to the Salisbury Food and Drink Festival held in the Market Place on Sunday. The weather was lovely and sunny the smells from all the wonderful food from all different cultures, add to that live music and cookery demonstrations it made for a perfect day out. Well done Salisbury Ageas Festival and Salisbury City Council.

Chainsaw-ManBowood House in Calne is hosting a Game & Country Fair. 24th & 25th September. “Food Glorious Food is perfect for food lovers. Chefs cook up some tasty delights, regional producers sell delicious food and drink.”
In last weeks’ news I mentioned the Fisherton History Society well the next event is on Wednesday 12th October “Salisbury in the First World War” with George Fleming at The Duke Of York 19.45 pm.

Destination Partners exhibited at the Amesbury Chamber of Trade Networking event on Thursday 15th September – it was a good chance for me to promote the website and speak to potential partners. Getting the message across of what the site is all about is much easier when you are speaking to people face to face. I wish I could do it for free but costs need to be met. The home page on the site will be changing in a couple of weeks’ time so make sure you keep watch.
